Guard Duty - Part 1

jane-alenko:

So we all know James Vega was hired by Anderson to guard Shepard during the 6 month trial for either the events of Arrival & or their involvement with Cerberus. So what did they do in all that time? Well this is what happened during those long 6 months in my head…*wiggles eyebrows mischievously*

Still no luck trying to figure out what to do with my Shenko fic Scream, so read this for now :P

—————————-

Shepard was pleased at how everyone handled the news, that she would be turning herself over to the Alliance to face trial. She knew they all believed she had done the right thing, but she still wasn’t so sure herself. She also didn’t want any of the crew being dragged into this, regardless of their previous history. They were all good people who just made some mistakes, at least in her mind she saw them that way.

The ship was nearly empty now & it was very quiet without the usual chatter of crew & hum of terminals. Most had been content to be dropped off at Omega, & she was sad to see people she thought now friends just leave like this. Only Joker, Dr. Chakwas, Garrus, Tali & Kasumi remained as they made their way to the Citadel. It’d be their last stop before heading back to the Sol System.

Shepard walks out with them, & regards them with a small frown on her face but duty calls. No matter what anyone might say, she will always be the honorable soldier & do the right thing. Even if she thinks its stupid.

F Yeah FemShep!: Mass Effect 3 Ending Controversy

allofmyfeels:

fyeahfemshep:

So I said I wasn’t going to post Mass Effect 3 stuff for a full three weeks after its worldwide release (which means not until March 30th). I tagged this post with tags that should block it for people with Tumblr Savior, but if you don’t have that, stop reading this post now.

Despite it being…

I’m one of the people who absolutely loathed the ending, but I can see how it would satisfy others.  We are all entitled to our opinions.  Thanks for being cool about this and framing it as a difference of opinion, rather than going on the attack.

This is mostly why I wanted to post it. Rather than fans attacking each other for liking it or not liking it, we should just understand each other and respect each others opinion. :)

Also, Mass Effect as a series, whether we all liked the ending or not, is pretty god damned amazing. So lets be joined through our love for the series itself.

Mass Effect 3 Ending Controversy

So I said I wasn’t going to post Mass Effect 3 stuff for a full three weeks after its worldwide release (which means not until March 30th). I tagged this post with tags that should block it for people with Tumblr Savior, but if you don’t have that, stop reading this post now.

Despite it being not being March 30th yet I did want to make a post about the controversy surrounding the ending.

I am in the minority of gamers who really enjoyed the ending. It had its flaws. *edited after posting for those that were curious* Flaws that made me raise an eyebrow - Mass Relays exploding, I thought that destroys an entire system? The shot of the Normandy suddenly going through a relay - wait when did that happen? These are things that should have been addressed. I assume that maybe using the crucible meant it wasn’t the type of explosion to the mass relays that causes the destruction of an entire system like what happened in Arrival - but if that’s the case then yes, that should have at the very least mentioned if not explained. Same with the Normandy: there should have been some more of a cutscene showing how they got to that point of trying to make a jump rather than just “here is the Normandy trying to make a jump with people that were on earth seemingly one or two seconds before!”

I’m the type that doesn’t mind not having every single thing explained. I realize those are things that others find to ruin it, but I was forgiving of it, as in my head I just filled in the blanks. Again - just to be clear - I’m not saying that everyone should want to fill in the blanks. Just that I understand those criticisms.

Other than those issues that I decided to just piece together in my head myself, it overall had a strong impact on me that was generally positive, despite being tragic. I like that it was tragic because, in my opinion, it’s true to Shepard’s nature to sacrifice herself for others.

However, I wanted to seek out the issues that others had with it. When I tried searching Tumblr and Twitter, I honestly had a hard time finding exact issues other than “OMGWTFBBQ” type posts. Which is not to say that I don’t believe other gamers concerns, but it didn’t help me gain perspective on the matter. I found something that gets the message across clearly, so I’m posting it here for others:

This BioWare Social Network thread touches on the major issues.

It does a great job of expressing the issues that fans have. The one that I see being the biggest issue are official statements that talk about multiple endings when really, the endings are, when all is said and done, not that different. I did not follow many of the developer interviews as I was trying to avoid most news about Mass Effect 3. Thus I had no idea that these statements were even made.

Do I still like the ending? For myself, yes.

Do I understand why other people do not like the ending? Yes, because they were told there would be multiple endings and it’s really just one type of ending.

So…yeah.

Playing around with armor in the demo :>

I gave this armor the tan colour of the armor she wore through ME2, but I’m not sure I like it on this set. But I do like the shape and the utility pockets and canisters and the actual layered look and the lack of defined boob armor, so I might end up using this one.

The other one I like:

May I present to you Vespera Shepard (aka Vesper, aka Ves). Infiltrator, Spacer, War Hero and Paragon. Former lover of Kaidan Alenko.

I am quite in love with her profile.

I spent a stupid amount of time tweaking Ves in the PC demo. Hopefully will translate over to the xbox no problem.

It’s too hard for me. Sigourney is smiling on all the front photos omg I couldn’t find any ‘emotionless’ ones, go make your own Ripley Shepard ;-;
or fix this one, face code is 153.Q3H.NP1.574.EDW.1BJ.NDS.A11.9F8.11A.A66.175
but I don’t think it will be a good idea, none of the eyes or lips match well, wrong shapes ;_;

I think I finally managed to create a nice version of my ME2 character :3  I gave her the poofy hairstyle because I’m headcanoning that she was going through a rebellious I-hate-Cerberus-and-everyone (except Tali, Kasumi, Garrus, etc.) phase in ME2 with that jagged cyberbabe haircut.  She looks very mature now, and I really like it <3
